Summer StaffDedicated, mature and highly qualified individuals, often with prior camp experience or backgrounds in working with children with disabilities are selected to fill the positions of cabin counselors, program specialists, food service and maintenance personnel. A counselor / camper ratio of one staff member to every six campers is maintained to ensure individualized attention. Professional nursing personnel rounds out the staff. A modern, well equipped health center along with a camp nurse available 24 hours a day provide for the health care needs of campers. The summer camp staff is comprised largely of college students, graduates or teachers pursuing careers in education, recreation or related fields of study. They participate in a full week of intensive pre-camp staff training, along with ongoing in-service training throughout the summer.
